School and Soccer

Jared started school on Monday. As excited as I was for him to start it was kind of a bittersweet day. He was so excited to go He wouldn't let me take him to school. He wanted to ride the bus so I just met him up at the school so I could walk him to class on his first day.

He was so excited to ride the bus.

There are only 8 kids in his kindergarted class. We got him into Canyon View. Hopefuly this will get him prepared to be able to go to regular first grade next year. He is gone all day. The bus picks him up at 7:55 and he doesn't get home unitl 4:00. He's done really good with it so far.

Jared had his first soccer game today. He did pretty good. He has a really good coach but one that is REALLY into soccer. Sometimes I think he forgets these kids are only 5. They have two practices a week that last about and hour and a half. He really likes it though. I hoping this will teach him teamwork.

At Jared'd game we ran into Anthony's biological sister's family. They are the nicest people and she really fits into their family. You can tell how much they love her. This is a pic of Katie and Anthony.

Anthony started soccer too. This was his first practice. He really likes playing. He will start pre school on Tuesday. He is also excited to start.

More summer fun

Here are some more pictures of things we've been doing this summer.

This was Anthony at Lagoon.

This was the boys at Mom and Dad's. I'm not sure if it's the 4th or the 24th.

This was a picture of the sun that I took. It was a really windy day and there were fires in Tooele.

This was at the Crittenden family reunion.

This was taken at the Weber County fair. They had a petting zoo and the kids got to pet some of the animals.

Jared and Anthony with Kurtis.

These were taken at the Harrisville Days parade. Our ward did a float and the primary children rode on the float. Here is Jared and Anthony.

This is Jared and Anthony with Kelsi. She is our neighbor and Jared thinks she is cute.

Recent going's on

The last couple of weeks have been really busy. Last week Chad was off so we decided to spend the time with the kids. On Monday we took the kids to the Hill Aerospace Museum. They really like all of the airplanes.

We also took them to the dinosaur park. Their favorite part of that was the playground and the sand that they could brush away and look for bones.

We took the kids to Lagoon on Thursday. The kids had a great time but I've decided I'm just to old to enjoy Lagoon anymore. I had forgot to take my camera into the park but I took these pics when we got home. The kids were so tired.

I had to include this picture. Jared actually took this even though he knows he isn't allowed to touch my camera. Anthony and Kaleigh have always had a close relationship. Even when she was just little, he would sit and hold her hand in the car.

I took this video a couple of weeks ago. Chad's dad has alsheimers but this day was a really good day for him. I especiall love how Kaleigh takes his arm and puts it around her.

The 4th, Jared's birthday and the Zoo.

We've had a busy weekend. On the 3rd we went to Granny and Gramps and had a weinie roast. We cooked hot dogs over the fire and ate lots! The kids did smoke bombs and when it got dark enough we did fireworks. Cole and Herbie came home for the week which worked out great. Dad had to have hip relpacement surgery on the 29th and they were there to help my mom.

On the 4th we took the kids to the North Ogden Cherry Day's parade. They liked it mostly because they got lots of candy. That night we went with Lill and Kris to Barker Park and watched the fireworks. We also ended up loosing Jared. He took off and it was dark. It took us a good half hour to find him. Next year we are buying those glow sticks and making a pattern on him so if he does run off we can find him.

On Sunday we celebrated Jared's 5th birthday. He was really excited to open his presents. We got him a garbage truck and Deisel 10. He's from the Thomas and friends collection. He's the naughty and mean train and he's Jared's favorite. Go figure.

On Monday we went to Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. It was really fun but extremely hot.

Our Family Vacation

This last week has been really fun. On Sunday we celebrated fathers day at Kris' house. On Monday I was able to meet Dave and Shannon Growcock, one of my old friends from my college ward. He was with his wife and two children. It was so fun to reconnect with them. It had been 12 years since I'd seen them. We went to Lee's Mongolian in Ogden and then took the kids to the park for a couple of hours while we were able to visit. Later that evening, we went to Park City, acutally Deer Mountain, for a 40th birthday bash for Grant Pettingill, one of my friends from high school. I was able to see Marleigh, Traci and Roger also.

On Tuesday we left for Yellowstone. We went up through Idaho and spent the first night in West Yellowstone. Our motel room was kind of a dump. Of course I'm a cheep wad and didn't want to spent alot on a room. I guess you get what you pay for. Wednesday we went into the park. Our first stop was the Painted Pots. Wouldn't you know, I got my camera out to take picutres and my camera was dead. I took picutres with my phone but they aren't very good. I made sure we stopped for batteries before we went to the falls.

The weather up there was perfect. The wind was blowing pretty bad at Inspiration Point.

The kids loved Old Faithful. I took video of that so I don't have any still pictures to post and the video is almost 2 minutes long.
After we left the park, we spent the night in Jackson Hole. We stayed at Motel 6. It was much nicer. We left this morning and came home but not before stopping in Star Valley for squeeky cheese and in Bear Lake for shakes. Vacations are nice but it sure is nice to be home.

Summer Fun

Dispite all of the rain, my kids and I have had a really fun summer. We've gone to the park several times, went to the airshow, spent time with family and just relaxed. Here are some of the pics I've taken so far this summer.

I really like this picture. If you look close, right in the middle is a cloud burst. I thought it was kind of cool.

You can't see me

Kaleigh has been so funny lately. She thinks if she hides her eyes I can't see her. This is us playing hide and seek. It is so funny.

The boys also finished school for the year. They were really upset about it. Anthony advanced to the next class and Jared graduated preschool. He is going to kindergarten next year. We did get him into Canyon View Elementary which is an alternative kindergarten. I was really worried about him going to school with all of his behavior problems. Now I feel a lot better about it. He will only have about 12-15 students in his class and more teachers and aids. I'm hoping by the time he finishes kindergarten he will be able to go to a regular elementary.
