Jared is going to be the death of me.

So last Wednesday I sent Jared to his room because he was hitting and yelling at me. It was about 4:30 in the afternoon. At 5:oo I went down to check on him and talk to him about why I had put him in his room. He wasn't there. I looked in the house, went around to the neighbors, looked back in the house, yelled for him and finally had my neighbors help me look for him. After 45 minutes of not being able to find him, I called the police. Chad had left earlier to go to a baseball game so I thought that maybe he hadn't closed the door tight and Jared had gotten out. When the police showed up he suggested that we check the house one more time before spreading out into the neighborhood. He said that 90% of the time they end up finding the child in the home hiding somewhere. All of my neighbors came in my house and started looking for him and yelling for him. We ended up finding him downstairs in the storage room. He had climbed into a box and covered himself up with a coat and fallen asleep. I had been in that room 3 times but I guess he was out cold and didn't hear me yell for him.

One of my greatest fears in this life is loosing one of my children. You read stories all of the time about missing children and to actually have it happen (even if it was only for and hour) is the worst feeling. I'm just glad we found him safe and sound.

Turning 40

Well, I'm now 40. It's hard to believe. I had a really good day. I spent the day with the kids until the boys went to school and then put Kaleigh down for her nap and relaxed until she woke up and the boys came home. When Chad came home from picking Anthony up, they brought me flowers. I was really suprised with them. Chad has only bought me flowers 2 times since we've been married. He also got me a cake and he and the kids gave me a $30 gift card to Fashion Bug. That evening we went dinner at Golden Coral (not my first choice, but it is kid friendly) and then we went to Shopko and bought a couple of kites and went to the park and flew kites and played. The kids (including Chad) had so much fun. It was a really good day. I just wish Chad would be that way with the kids everyday.

Pictures of the Kids

We went and got the kid's pictures taken yesterday.  It was exhausting.  Kaleigh and Jared kept running out of the studio while I was trying to view pictures.  I am sure the photographer was glad to see us go!  They are sure cute kids, it would be nice if their actions would catch up!!!  Here are their pictures.

Kaleigh Singing

Kaleigh loves to sing.  Her favorite song is Twinkle Twinkle.  I finally got a video of her singing.

I also finally got my hair colored and cut. I hadn't had it done for almost a year.  Here's a picture of the finished product.

Kicked off the Island

The last time I wrote, my ward was being split. Not only did they put me in the new ward, I was put in a whole new church house. All of my friends were left in my old ward. I was really upset. The up side is that all of my friends are also foster parents and so we will still keep in touch. The down side is I won't see anybody I know from the other wards at all.

So my sweet Anthony has been getting in trouble at school. I know, shocker. He was the best two year old and pretty good three year old. He's hit four and something has happened. If he doesn't get his way or doesn't want to do something, he throws himself on the floor and cries and screams. The teacher at school stopped me when I took him to school the other day and asked me if anything had changed at home. It almost made me feel like she was accusing me of something. What's funny is that I worked in childcare for several years and when we had problems with children we would talk to the parents and ask the same thing. Now I'm on the other side I understand why the parents would get a little upset with that question.

Jared is doing great in school. I went to parent teacher conference a couple of weeks ago. They told me he is going so good and listens. I almost wondered if we were discussing the same child. I guess if he has to be naughty, I'd rather it be here at home instead of school.

Kaleigh is getting to big for her britches. She is just barely two and is talking in full sentences. We put her into a "big girl bed". She loves it.

My job as a peer parent is going good. I am the peer parent for Kayden's mom. He was our foster child for about 5 months. He is going home on Friday. They will be doing an in home trial placement. I'm really excited forher. Out of the seven children we've had in our home, we've only seen one go home. It will be nice to have another sucess story.

So the updating every week didn't go so well.

As you can tell, the updating every week didn't work. I also didn't have a computer for a couple of weeks. My computer died and all of my pictures on the hard drive with it. I do have one more hope though. One of my neighbors has a husband that is a major computer geek. It's his job and he said he might be able to get the pics off for me. The lesson I learned? Back up my files!!!!!!! I took the computer to Shawn and when he called me to tell me that there was nothing he could do, I started crying. (sorry Shawn). I don't think he knew what to do. I do appreciate him looking at it for me though.

So I have a crazy story. When I was a little girl there was a girl that kind of took me under her wing. She was about 10 years older than me but I remember she would take me to her house to make cookies. She was always really nice to me. Her name is Jane Black. Well, last month at our planning meeting for scouts I got talking to one of our leaders. She told me her maiden name was Black. Out of the blue I asked her if she had reletives from Morgan. She said she did. Come to find out Jane is her step sister. Jane's mom passed away and her dad re-married a few years later. I have since been in contact with Jane. That has been really great.

Anthony celebrated his fourth birthday. He was so funny all day. He kept saying "It's my birthday huh Mom". He is getting so grown up. Jared was mad because Anthony is now four and he said Anthony couldn't be four because he is. We took the kids to McDonalds for dinner. That's where they wanted to go. My friend also had her baby this week. She wasn't due until April sixth but ended up having it on Sunday. We had just been out on Friday. She and I along with another friend and my niece, Courtney, went to dinner and to a movie. We also did a little shopping. It's nice to finally have some good friends where I live.

Tme sure goes fast.

Ok. Here we are at the end of January and it seems like we just had Christmas. I found out yesterday that Meagan is coming next week. I am so excited to see her and her family. They are having Rhone blessed on the 15th of February in Malad. Chad's mom turns 80 on the 6th. We are having an open house for her on the 7th. I've tried to put Kaleigh in a toddler bed but can't get her to stay in it. Jared's lip is all healed. I had Kaleigh's ears pierced this week. She looks so cute and she loves them. She barely cried. I really don't have much more to say but I'm trying to keep up to date at least once a week. We'll see how long that lasts:)
